“I can live without money, but I cannot live without love.” Judy Garland
“ALMOST HOME” brings to life the untold stories of Judy Garland, through the eyes of the man who last held her heart, Mickey Deans.
Based on Deans’ autobiography, ALMOST HOME delves into the heart and soul of the ruby-slippered superstar. The show celebrates how incredibly loved she was, firstly as the world’s most successful movie star, but more importantly, as a wife, mother and friend.
“ALMOST HOME” is intertwined with exciting, new male arrangements of Judy’s greatest hits including; “The Man that got away,” The Trolley Song,” “Come rain or come shine,” and, of course, “Over the Rainbow.”
Musical Theatre performer, Daniel Downing (Wicked- The Musical) brings Mickey Deans to life in this brand new one-man show.
With accompaniments and arrangements by the incredible Bev Kennedy (Priscilla, Billy Elliot, We Will Rock You, The Lion King, Chicago) and direction by Jason Langley (Breast Wishes, As You Like It, Woman in Black, Sydney Theatre Awards) this dynamic trio has created a show the Mardi Gras Festival has never seen before.
