HUMAN 3.O We’re All In This Together
HUMAN 3.0 is an exciting multidisciplinary exhibition that takes an unbounded look at what Mardi Gras was, is and will be.
Curated and produced by aMBUSH Gallery, and presented in collaboration with Central Park Mall and Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, HUMAN 3.0 includes several dynamic elements. There’s a retrospective of every Mardi Gras poster from the festival’s past, as well as new conceptual designs from some of Australia’s foremost artists.
Two very different photographic bodies of work will also feature: Nicholas Contrera’s Extra Ordinary – Trans Life depicting high-profile transgender adults, and Sarah Wong’s sensitive photo series, Inside Out: Portraits of Cross-Gender Children, capturing the ‘inner essence’ of transgender children. Sydney’s artist-run collective, HAARD (Homo Art and Recreation Division), will exhibit diverse works of twelve of their young gay male members.
Join us on Friday 5 February from 6-9pm to celebrate the official opening by Michele Bauer (CEO, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras), with entertainment from Sydney DJ duo L‘OASIS. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn the history of Australia’s Mardi Gras as a human rights movement, and contribute to progressing the conversation around LGBTQI issues.
