Come and celebrate all that the Oxford Street community has to offer, from day into the night.
A stomping ground for outcasts, bohemians, and the queer community, whose influences delightfully combine to form a unique cultural hub. Oxford Street has always been a major hub for creative expression. A neighbourhood built by quirky characters for quirky characters to come together and express themselves in any way, shape or form. From the iconic gay bars, to art schools and live music venues, artistic expression has always underpinned the Eastside community. A somewhat unconventional, and nonjudgmental space where queerness was not only promoted, but thrived.
Whether you visit for an outrageous night out, a tasty meal or a shop on the main drag, there truly is something for everybody.
Join us on Oxford Street & surrounds on Saturday 25 February as we celebrate the rich and diverse community that makes up the Pink Mile. It’ll be a celebration of colour, sass and collectivism. There’ll be a string of free events within venues happening on the day. The strip will be transformed to highlight the unique character of the local businesses and happenings in the area. We’ll be showcasing bands whose career blossomed in the local venues, as well as colourful drag performances and localised art happenings. There’ll also be a window dressing competition for shops along Oxford Street, with cash prizes to be won. The whole event will be covered by our local media partners at GAY RADIO, who will be broadcasting live from Taylor Square.
The event aims to bring together the eclectic eccentric Eastside community. All proceeds will be donated to local LGBTQIA+ organisation, The Bobby Goldsmith Foundation.
