Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is a not for profit community based organisation governed by a board of 8 elected directors and staffed with a CEO and management team. It has established a number of board sub-committees to oversee the strategic business of the board which are permanent committees to which core areas of focus are delegated, in order to either generate decisions, or more often to make specialist recommendations to the board.

Each Committee has it’s own charter and work plan which is tied into the overall strategic plan for the organisation. It is measured by accountability to a set of defined tasks and objectives.
