Glamstand's 2012 stellar line-up announced

GLAMSTAND’S 2012 STELLAR LINE-UP ANNOUNCED

Glamstand is back in 2012 with their best ever entertainment line-up, starring actor and singer Tim Campbell, Australia’s first lady of house, Kate Monroe, and the return of Glamstand’s favourite hostess, the fabulous Vanessa Wagner.

Tim, Kate and Vanessa will be joined by rockstar Sarah McLeod making her first appearance at Glamstand. And to add to the Glamstand entertainment the former lead singer of the Superjesus will not only host, but perform as well. Pop legend Leo Sayer rounds off an all star entertainment program.

And this is just the start, with more guests and performers to be announced soon.

Glamstand is the best way to experience the world famous Sydney Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday 3 March 2012, all in the beautiful surrounds of Moore Park.

And for the first time, Mardi Gras’s pre parade entertainment, Foreplay, will do an exclusive Glamstand performance to get everyone ready for the main event. Organisers are delivering a complete Parade experience.

Glamstand opens at 5.00pm, and entertainment starting from 5.30pm right through to the start of the Parade at 8.30pm. High quality dining, bars and fantastic entertainment means getting there early is essential to soak up the atmosphere.

There are plenty of reserve seating options and the famous Glambar for those who want to enjoy the night in true, fabulous style – all in a beautiful venue, with all your creature comforts.

Tim Campbell, known for his numerous television and stage performances including Home and Away, Dancing With The Stars and musicals Shout and Wicked is looking forward to hosting and performing for the Glamstand crowd. “Really looking forward to sharing the best seats in the house and enjoying a great Mardi Gas with everyone at Glamstand. I can’t wait to have fun with Kate and Vanessa, and share a great night of celebration with all the floats. I may possibly be the most clothed person on the night – perhaps I will still have a spray tan and red budgies on underneath!” said Tim.

She is best known as our favourite queen of house, but not only will Kate Monroe DJ for the Glamstand crowd, she’s part of the hosting team, to show us a little more of this talented performer. “Playing for the Glamstand crowd is going to be great and hosting with Vanessa, Tim and Sarah is definitely something I’m looking forward to. It is such a fabulous night for our community and Glamstand is the only way to watch it,” said Kate.

Sydney’s superstar of Glamstand, Vanessa Wagner will again keep the crowd entertained throughout the night. For Vanessa there is simply no other way to watch the Parade than from the glamour of Glamstand. “I’m thrilled to again be involved in Glamstand as one of the hosts and commentators, it really is the night of nights on the world festival calendar and where better to experience it”.

“The Mardi Gras Parade is still a night of unexpected delights, visual splendour, raw energy and passion, it's an honour and thrill to be up close and personal with community groups and members as a Glamstand host,” said Vanessa.

Vanessa, Tim and Kate will be joined on the night by two great performers – Leo Sayer and Sarah McLeod. Both will perform to the Glamstand crowd. For Leo, who now calls Sydney home, this will be his first Glamstand appearance, but not his first Mardi Gras Parade. “Oh I love the Sydney Mardi Gras. It’s just so Sydney – brash, loud, colourful and outrageous – and Glamstand 2012 is gonna go off! I’m thrilled to have been invited and really looking forward to performing for the Glamstand crowd. I’ll put a thunder in the audience’s hearts and make everyone feel like dancing,” said Leo.

Sarah McLeod, lead singer of the all girl band, Screaming Bikini, will help host as well as perform. “Mardi Gras is such a great community celebration and I’m looking forward to being a part of it and performing,” Sarah said.
