New Mardi Gras (NMG) today announced that it had entered into a co-production agreement with Sydney’s popular promoter Johan Khoury to produce the Mardi Gras harbour party, Harbour ’11 with added Daywash.
The party will be presented in partnership with Gaydar.com.au and is a collaboration with the Botanic Gardens Trust, the custodians of Sydney’s stunning Botanic Gardens.
Last year Harbour ’10 saw over 4,000 locals and visitors treated to a spectacular party with the highest ever satisfaction ratings recorded by New Mardi Gras for its parties.
Now NMG has joined forces with the Daywash team to make it bigger and better. With one of the most beautiful settings of any party in the world, a huge influx of international and interstate visitors expected, NMG’s big-scale production experience and Johan Khoury’s programming flair it promises to be an incredible day.
Johan Khoury is the producer of Daywash, an immensely popular event held several times a year in one of Sydney’s sexiest venues The Chinese Laundry. He has also produced some of the city’s most-loved parties of recent years – from Rising Day Club at Phoenix, to Love Muscle at the Greenwood and his regular Saturday night event Live @ Club Onesixnine.
“Johan brings an exciting new perspective to the event,” said NMG CEO Michael Rolik. “There is a massive momentum behind the party since last year and I think this will make it unmissable for many people.”
“I am really excited to be bringing Daywash to the harbour and to be working with one of our community’s most important organisations,” said Johan Khoury. “Imagine everything you love about Daywash and supersize it, and then you will have in mind about half of what we plan to bring you. Soak it up!”
