Mardi Gras invites community to set Parade agenda at Big Ideas Day

As part of The Big Gay Weekend program on the October long weekend, NMG has announced its first ever Big Ideas Day, a community forum that will help develop and tease out ideas and themes for next year’s Mardi Gras Parade.

The three-hour event will feature speakers, debate and lots of interaction. Details of key attendees will be announced shortly, however NMG confirmed that last year’s Parade Consulting Artistic Director Ignatius Jones will be there on the day.

This free public event is for Parade veterans, newbies, creative and those who merely have a desire to share their big ideas or spectate. For those considering building an entry in 2012, help will be on hand to explain how you can bring your dream float to life.

“We are looking for ideas that will make next year’s Parade electrifying and unique,” said NMG Parade Producer Vicktor Petroff. “How are we going to inspire, excite and surprise our audiences? How can we use the Parade to make a difference?”

Saturday 1st October from, 1pm – 4pm at Paddington RSL.
