New Mardi Gras (NMG) today announced part of its phenomenal line-up for the Mardi Gras Party 2011. With a diverse range of local and international talent including Frankie Knuckles, Larry Tee, Seamus Haji, Steven Redant and Yinon Yahel, as well as much-loved Australian comedian Bob Downe, Mardi Gras Party 2011 is all about the music.

The Royal Hall of Industries (RHI) has an exciting line-up for Mardi Gras Party 2011, with Murray Hood, one of Australia’s most versatile and respected DJs kicking off the night. A performer at previous Mardi Gras Party and Sleaze Ball events, Murray will be playing the finest pick of vocal house tracks, with lots of energy and surprises.

International DJ and producer Seamus Haji (Big Love, Strictly Rhythm), will be delivering slick sounds and hot remixes of artists including Rihanna, Mariah Carey and the Ting Tings. Having had a 2007 number one on the UK Dance Chart with his cover of Indeep’s “Last Night a DJ Saved My Life” , Seamus will be sure to have crowds dancing.

Notable music producer and DJ Yinon Yahel will be continuing on his quest to please music lovers around the globe with what promises to be a dynamic, electrifying set. A highly recognisable talent in Israel, Yinon first received international attention through his production work with DJ Offer Nissim and famous singer and composer Maya Siman Toy. He continues to make an impact, elevating Tel Aviv on the international dance scene.

NMG also welcomes back Francisco Guerra after his knockout 2010 performance at Carnival. Guerra will be sure to keep the party vibe in RHI going, ending the party on a high note with hands in the air anthems.

The Hordern Pavilion will see the return of the ‘Godfather of House’ himself Frankie Knuckles, entertaining party-goers with his vocal house masterpieces. Kate Monroe, who has been at the forefront of dance music in Australia and around the world, with her wicked sets at parties including Sleaze Ball and Toy Box @ Luna Park, will be playing her special blend of sassy and sultry house music.

In the Hordern Pavilion, Mardi Gras revellers will enjoy a full journey of sound, taking them from house, to electro clash to progressive. New York party veteran and iconic performer Larry Tee, who has worked with Princess Superstar, Perez Hilton and co-wrote Ru Paul’s “Supermodel (You Better Work)” will bring his trademark electro clash sounds, while International DJ/Producer Steven Redant of La Démence fame will have crowds pumping like he did at 2010’s Inaugural London Global Dance Festival and Gay Pride Madrid & Barcelona.

NMG is proud to support Australian performers, including rising star Kam Shafaati, who will open the party at the dark and sexy Dome. His infectious and distinctive sound will see crowds let their hair down. Mardi Gras regulars will celebrate the return of Feisty once again to the Dome, and enjoy her original approach to tribal-tech sound.

The Dome will also see DJ Sveta grab hold of the dance-floor with her spellbinding mix of music that will demonstrate why she is in such demand as a performer all over Sydney. Having maintained a strong presence on the underground music scene, as well as entertaining mainstream crowds, Sveta has crossed over to straight, gay, young, old, queer and fetish audiences.

One of Sydney’s most innovative performers, DJ Baby Bear will also play the Dome, drawing on his almost 15 years of experience entertaining clubbers with his versatile style.

The Forum steps back in time with a new party format for 2011, including Bob Downe’s All-Star Retro-Gras. Arrive early and beat the rush, to dance and laugh yourself silly while Australia’s clown prince of polyester spins up a retro storm. Bob will present the drag legends of Oxford Street, plus special surprise guests!

Cutting up the retro classics with some new hits, the Forum will also be spinning the sounds of Oxford St regular Matt Vaughan, the DJ, dancer, artist and promoter behind Phoenix Bar club night ‘Loose Ends’. Mark Murphy, heralded as one of the pioneers of the Sydney electro scene, and performer at numerous Field Day and Big Day Out festivals, will also be performing.
