Mardi Gras releases PETS
New Mardi Gras (NMG) has today announced the Parade Entrant Ticketing Scheme (PETS), which is set to help all Parade 2011 Entrants raise money for their floats. The scheme involves a donation of $10 from every Mardi Gras Party ticket, and has the ability to raise $100,000 to help make Parade 2011 bigger and brighter than ever.
Check out the PETS Frequently Asked Questions here.
PETS is a simple fundraising system, reliant on Entrants promoting and selling Mardi Gras Party tickets. Each Parade Entrant is given a unique five-letter code once their float is approved, which can be used every time someone purchases a Mardi Gras Party ticket online, over the phone or in person. Every time someone quotes a particular PETS code, $10 of their ticket price is automatically allocated to that Entrant.
Parade Entrants are encouraged to spread the word about their code to friends, family and supporters – the more ticket sales they generate with their code, the more money they will receive. PETS replaces the previous $14,000 Grants Scheme, and has the ability to raise $100,000 to help entrants bring their wildest dreams to life.
“We’ve been working with the community to create new fundraising strategies,” said Steph Sands, Co-Chair of NMG. “PETS works so well because it functions as a fundraiser for everyone involved – Parade Entrants can raise thousands for their own float, our organisation is supported and the ticket-buyers get to enjoy one of the world’s biggest and best dance parties.”
“We’re excited about the possibilities PETS opens up for Parade Entrants,” said Pete Urmson, Co-Chair of NMG. “This scheme means all Entrants can raise additional funds to create spectacular floats, and make the 2011 Parade our most vibrant yet. It also helps raise funds for NMG, as Party tickets are one of our biggest sources of income.”’
Mardi Gras Party is one of the biggest dance parties in the world, growing for over 30 years and including performances from international superstars such as George Michael, Kelly Rowland, Cyndi Lauper, Kylie Minogue and many more. Set in the Hordern Pavillion and several other stunning venues, the Party is the celebratory end to the Mardi Gras Parade and draws up to 18,000 people from Sydney and around the world
The Parade Entrant Ticketing Scheme will commence next Wednesday 15th December.
