For a street party, the first Mardi Gras Parade certainly wasn’t fun for the participants.

But, for all the trauma and pain inflicted, was it worthwhile?

Did it change the dynamics between men and women in the gay, lesbian and transgender movements of the time?

Did it re-vitalise and influence our own movements and political agendas?

Did it influence other political movements and parties in terms of their approach to our communities and issues?

These are just some of the issues to be explored in an Afternoon with the 78ers.

This event is by gold coin donation.
