Business Manager  - Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras

SGLMG are in an exciting time of renewal and strategic development and are recruiting for a full time Business Manager to join the Mardi Gras team in the Oxford Street offices in Darlinghurst NSW.

The Business Manager works closely with the CEO, Creative Director and SGLMG Board to realise SGLMG’s strategic objectives including management of financial and administrative operations of the organisation. The Business Manager oversees human resources, building maintenance, office/IT management and financial management associated with SGLMG events and Mardi Gras Festival programs.

They also work alongside the Partnerships team in the development of earned income; managing financial reporting to key funders and stakeholders including Destination NSW and City of Sydney and ensuring the CEO and SGLMG Board are fully informed of the organisations financial position.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential:

·       Proven experience as a business manager or equivalent, preferably in a cultural, festival or related environment

·       Proven financial management skills, including the ability to develop and manage complex budgets, payroll and audit preparation

·       Proven knowledge and experience of human resource management

·       Proven experience in contract development and management

·       An entrepreneurial approach to growing organisational income from earned sources

·       Outstanding planning, organisational and communication skills

·       The ability to think strategically and devise practical solutions to complex issues

Desirable:

·       Knowledge of the arts, and in particular contemporary festival operating models

·       Experience in facilities oversight, management and development

·       Sense of humour
