Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is proud to support the launch of the new First Nations Rainbow organisation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are LGBTQI.

First Nations Rainbow was set up to strengthen community, improve wellbeing and reduce stigma and discrimination. The new group launched on Saturday 28 July at the Colombian Hotel on Oxford Street. The launch event was hosted by Nana Miss Koori and it honoured the 2018 NAIDOC Week theme ‘Because of Her We Can’.

“We’re making history,” said the First Nations Rainbow team. “It’s the first time that our brotherboys and sistergirls are performing together on Oxford Street for our community.”
