Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and City Gym Sydney are proud to announce a new partnership which will extend the fitness industry icon’s long history of support for the LGBTQI communities with a special discount offer for all Mardi Gras members.

Since its opening in 1978 – the same year Mardi Gras began – the current three-level fitness venue on Crown Street, Darlinghurst (which originally started on William Street) has proudly welcomed and hosted a diverse range of community groups including local LGBTQI people in a friendly, safe and welcoming environment. Each year the gym provides a meet-up and rehearsal space for various floats in the Mardi Gras Parade.

Along with exciting group PT classes, a corporate studio with a running club, yoga, and supported programs for beginners, City Gym also has a strong focus on our elder community members and offers ‘Live Stronger’ classes for seniors including 78ers.

Mardi Gras members can now access a 30% discount offer on 12-month memberships to City Gym when they show their Mardi Gras membership card during the sign-up process.

“The team at City Gym has been a proud supporter of Mardi Gras and our LGBTQI communities for decades, so we’re very proud to extend that partnership,” says Mardi Gras CEO Terese Casu. “The gym is committed to increasing the health, fitness and wellbeing of our community – young, older and everyone in between.”

City Gym Directors Bill Kokkinis and Andy Mamasioulas say the City Gym team are looking forward to welcoming more Mardi Gras members to City Gym. “We’re supporters of Mardi Gras from way back, and we’re excited to extend this healthy partnership into the future.

“For over three decades we have been a hub for Sydney’s diverse communities. Whether your goal is to lose weight, to strengthen and increase your muscle mass, increase your energy levels and fitness, or general wellbeing, we can help you achieve your fitness goals.”

City Gym Sydney is located at 107-113 Crown Street, Darlinghurst. Visit the gym’s website here.
