Thanks for joining us! You're in for an incredible night of celebration. Be sure to explore all the different areas - The RHI, Hordern and Max Watts have DJs, shows and pop-up surprises all night long. See the DJ set times here!
Doors open 10pm, Saturday 4 March
It's not far to walk to the Party from Oxford Street and the Parade. There is a parking station at The Entertainment Quarter, but we advise you to walk or use public transport.
Party entrance is on Driver Avenue. There are two express lanes for VIPs, Mardi Gras Members and volunteers who have assisted at another Mardi Gras Event and hold a discounted ticket.
Present a print-out of your ticket or display the ticket on your smart phone screen for scanning at the gate entry point. If you have a question or problem with your ticket, our Guest Services team will be happy to help.
If you need to buy a ticket, you can purchase one easily on your mobile while in the line to go in up until 2am Sunday morning - so there's no need to queue at the Box Office. But if you do have tickets to collect, pick them up at the Party Box Office located to the right of the entry gates. There will be some tickets for sale there at the Box Office until 5am Sunday morning too.
Entry is restricted to ticketed guests aged 18 years and older only. Acceptable Forms of identification are a Photo Drivers License, Passport, or RTA Photo Card.
As with most big parties, you may see Police and drug detection dogs at the entrance. Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras does not support illegal drug use or possession. To help partygoers understand their legal rights, we support an initiative called FAIR PLAY which involves volunteers being on hand at the Party to provide information on rights and legal support, offer emotional support and monitor police operations. Information about rights and safety is available on the FAIR PLAY website here.
Our security personnel are there to make our Mardi Gras Party safe for everyone. You may encounter pat-downs, bag searches and be asked to turn out your pockets.
No BYO drinks of any kind are permitted.
Liquids of any kind (including eye drops, perfumes and nasal sprays) are also not permitted.
If you require eye drops, our Medical team will provide these. If you have prescription medication, please declare this on entry and ask for a medical representative. Guests' confidentiality will be protected.
No glass, weapons, large umbrellas, inflatables, selfie sticks or portable seats are permitted.
No commercial cameras or video cameras are permitted. By entering the Party you consent to being filmed and/or photographed which may be used for promotional purposes.
There are strictly no pass-outs.
We reserve the right to refuse entry to any person.
AT THE PARTY
Be sure to explore all the different areas - The RHI, Hordern and Max Watts have DJs, shows and pop-up surprises all night long.
Look after your belongings by checking them into the Cloakroom, located in Byron Kennedy Hall which is at the roundabout on Errol Flynn. The cloakroom is run by the Metropolitan City Church and your cloakroom fee is a donation to help them continue their important work.
If you're taking pics, you can use the hashtag #SydneyMardiGras or #MGparty on social media, and swipe on Snapchat to find our Mardi Gras Party Snapchat filter!
Look after your friends. Stay hydrated. Pace yourself. If you need medical help, our Medical team is located on the northern side of the Hordern Pavilion (in the same area as past years).
If you or a friend need assistance, or if you see someone in trouble, contact any ACON rover or member of security. They wear bright pink vests and are in radio contact with medical teams so can call for assistance. It is important to let ACON Rovers and Medical staff know if any drugs or alcohol have been used. Rovers and medical staff treat this information as confidential.
AFTER THE PARTY
The best place to get a taxi is on Driver Avenue. There will be a taxi rank at the southern end of Driver Avenue (to the right as you exit the Party gates).
Uber pick ups will be from the roundabout on Driver Avenue near Gate D. The app will automatically set this as your location when you order an Uber within and around the party.
If you are walking, please stay with your friends and look after each other. Please let your friends know if you are leaving with someone you've met at the Party, or are going home alone.
Lost Property: During the Party all lost property will be taken to the guest cloakroom in Byron Kennedy Hall. Any lost property left at Byron Kennedy Hall will be taken by MCC post-event.
From all of us here at Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, we hope you have a wonderful and unforgettable time partying with us. HAPPY MARDI GRAS!
