SUPPORT THE NEXT 40 YEAR EVOLUTION OF MARDI GRAS
For the last 40 years, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras has provided a creative platform for the community to celebrate its achievements, protest and bring global attention to LGBQTI human rights. Our community is always changing but our purpose remains the same.
Your support means more LGBTQI communities can connect through Mardi Gras, and have a voice to celebrate with pride and hope. You can change the lives of LGBTQI people who face barriers for simply being themselves.
Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras was proud to support the Tiwi Island Sistagirls on their journey to Sydney for the 2017 and 2018 Parades via our Community Grants Program.
"To go to the Mardi Gras is to showcase our culture and our people - how Tiwi people have evolved in this generation, and how we have become stronger in our community. And it shows people that you can make a change."
How you can make a difference

40th FOUNDATION CIRCLE
We have come a long way since 1978, when a small group of brave activists marched to celebrate international Gay Pride. They were met with oppression, but paved the way to the diverse culture that we honour today. 40 years later, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is one of the largest celebrations of social justice and diversity in the world.
To celebrate the extraordinary history of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, we have launched the inaugural 40th Foundation Circle, inviting members to leave a legacy for the next 40 years of Evolution of Mardi Gras.
Members of the 40th Foundation Circle will be part of a special group that supports the future of Mardi Gras. Members give donations of $2,000 or more to support programs with a focus on social justice and increase access for isolated communities to participate in Mardi Gras.
Members of the 40th Foundation circle receive acknowledgement on Mardi Gras website and annual festival program, along with invitations to special members events throughout the year.
Mardi Gras is a registered charity. All donations above $2 are tax deducible.
