Sydney comes alive with a huge variety of events during Mardi Gras season every February and March, but there's plenty happening all year round.
Take your pick! Here's your guide to special events around our city created by and for our LGBTQI communities. We update this free listing each week until our website is revamped in October to launch our 2018 Mardi Gras season. In the meantime, email your event news to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note: Stonewall Hotel, ARQ, the Colombian Hotel, the Oxford Hotel, the Imperial Hotel and the Red Rattler each have regular events happening each weekday and weekends, and the Gay4Play group hosts a variety of social activities.
Almost 14% of young people are not enrolled to vote - that's more than 800,000 people! How do we change that? By holding one big citywide enrolment drive for equality.
This weekend is one HUGE recruitment drive! Venues all over Sydney are uniting to show their support for marriage equality, urging their patrons to Enrol to Vote. Look out for posters, iPad sign-ups, enrolment booths and more.

Queerstories - Friday 25 August @ Giant Dwarf
Join some of Sydney’s best storytellers for an evening of our city’s queerstories; reflections on lives well lived and battles fought, pride, prejudice, love and humour. Listen to an unexpected tale or two from a diverse line up of stars and strangers, programmed by Maeve Marsden and hosted by campaigner and all round excellent person, Sally Rugg (while Maeve is in Edinburgh). Rainbow Roundtable - Tuesday 29 August @ Newtown Neighbourhood Centre
Inner West Council is hosting an evening for the LGBTIQ community to share stories, celebrate diversity and plan for the future. Feedback from a recent survey highlighted four major issues that were cause for concern. #RainbowRoundtable aims to address these, encouraging group discussions within dedicated workshops for key topics.
