Win A Weekend In Sydney for Mardi Gras – Competition Terms

  1. Information on how to enter and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions of entry. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions       
  2. Entry is free and open to to travel agents, and travel industry professionals, however, employees and volunteers of the Promoter (Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras) are ineligible to enter.
  3. Competition runs from 8am 14 April 2016 until 2pm 22 April 2016. All dates and times are AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time)
  4. No entries will be deemed valid if received outside of the entry period
  5. Valid entries must include the entrant’s details including business/agency information, as well as answering the 25 words or less question about Mardi Gras.
    1. Answers longer than 25 words will be deemed invalid at the discretion of the Promoter
  6. The winner shall be the best answer as determined by the judging panel
  7. The winner will be contacted via email and/or telephone and must claim their prize by 2pm 29 April.
    1. Should the winner not claim their prize, a new grand prize winner will be selected and will have 7 days to claim their prize.
  8. The prize pool consists of one grand prize which includes
    1. 4 nights accommodation in a Sydney 4-star or better hotel
    2. 2 x tickets to The Diamond Club (parade viewing)
    3. 2 x tickets to Mardi Gras Party
    4. 2 x tickets to The Laneway
    5. The value of the Grand Prize is AUD$1,500.00
  9. The prizes cannot be redeemed for cash, on-sold or offered as prizes or incentives.
  10. If the proposed Mardi Gras events are not offered during the 2017 Festival, substitute prizes or tickets may be provided to the winner at the discretion of SGLMG.
  11. The prize winner will need to be 18 years or older to attend the Mardi Gras events as these are within licensed (18yo +) areas. Should the winner be younger than 18 years at the time of Mardi Gras 2017, they can transfer the tickets to someone else with approval from SGLMG.
  12. The prize does not include flights to Sydney, insurances, transfers or any incidentals and these are the responsibility of the prize winner.
  13. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspects of the competition is final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into.
  14. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or inconsequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any other prize/s except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
  15. In the event that fir any reason whatsoever a winner does not take a prize, or use part of their prize, then this element is deemed to have been forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the Grand Prize.
  16. In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the event and recommence it from the start on the same Terms subject to State regulation.
