Amao Leota Lu (she/her)
Amao Leota Lu is a proud Samoan fa’afafine and trans woman of color. She is an international speaker, performing artist, writer, activist and storyteller who infuses the intersectionality of gender, culture and life experiences in her performance works and talks.
She is currently developing a second iteration of her award winning Talonoa platform Pacific Essences: From a migrant plantation, presented at the Immigration Museum, 2019. Amao and a panel of queer Pasifika artists take up space, share experiences through storytelling and performance and what it means to be woven into the rainbow tapestry of intersectionality.
Rebranded “Queer Pasifika” the conversation series will continue at the Brewery Theatre, St Albans May 19th in association with the Brimbank Council.
