Brandon Bear (he/they)

Director

Brandon is proud to re-join the board of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras (SGLMG) after serving five years as a director and associate in the lead up to the 40thAnniversary. Their involvement with SGLMG began as a volunteer in 2005.

They are passionate about improving equity and access for sexuality and gender diverse people and communities, especially in relation to healthcare and social services. Brandon works within a cultural humility framework, and understands that even in the communities that SGLMG serves, inequity in access exists and should be addressed.

Brandon works as the Manager of Sexuality and Gender Diversity Program at St Vincent’s Health Services and brings governance experience having sat on the board of several organisations including the NSW peak body for youth health and the peak body for adolescent health.

A commitment to ensuring our communities are represented fairly, and that Mardi Gras remains an integral part of the life of Sydney, Australia and their sexuality and gender diverse communities drives Brandon to work hard for members.
