Skip Blofield (he/him/they/them)

Director

Skip is an avid queer community activist & industrial advocate in both his role as the Branch President of the Westmead Hospital Branch of the NSW Nurses & Midwives Association as well as a Branch Delegate for the Sydney Branch of the Industrial Workers of the World.

Outside industrial matters, Skip also participates in community activism with the group Pride in Protest, fighting to see justice for the LGBTQIA+ community along all intersections of oppression and discrimination.

He has participated in several campaigns advocating to protect LGBTQIA+ youth from discrimination in schools, right to self ID, & the working conditions of sex workers as well as wider issues that affect the community such as climate change & public housing.

As the newest member of the board, he hopes to use this opportunity to help advocate for social justice and to protect queer rights, using this experience in industrial & community activism to contribute to Mardi Gras’ role as an advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community.
