Board Update: Looking ahead – what’s next for 2018?

Hello from all of us on the Board of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras,

While we’re reflecting on an amazing 40th anniversary Mardi Gras season, April’s been a good chance to look at ways to make our festival even better, and work closer with our LGBTQI communities and allies.

Welcome to new additions to the Board: Christopher Brooke (Director, Treasurer), David Sellin (Company Secretary) and Sam Day (Board Associate).

The Board is excited to announce its new Committees. Our Social Justice Committee will plan ways Mardi Gras can step up and raise awareness of Social Justice and Equality issues related to the LGBTQI communities.

We are seeking Expressions of Interest to join the Committee – find out more here.

The Board will release more information about the Committees and be requesting EOIs soon:

  • Membership Committee
  • Funding Committee
  • People and Culture Committee
  • Governance, Risk and Audit Committee
  • 78ers Committee
  • Strategic Development Committee

As the year goes on and our committees develop, we’ll give you regular updates about what we’re up to. We’re looking forward to giving you more insights into some of the work that goes into putting on one of the biggest LGBTIQ festivals.

Best wishes,

The Board of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
