Mardi Gras' much-loved DOGGYWOOD returns to Victoria Park on Sunday 16 February. Our annual celebration of pooches celebrates dogs, their owners and fans for a day of fur, frivolity and fun.

Set under the popular big top at the Arena, from 10am-2pm Doggywood will showcase Mardi Gras-themed dog shows hosted by the ever popular Bingay host with the most, Naomi Palmer. Naomi will MC our world-famous Doggywood pageants where cute canines will battle it out for prizes and the title of Best Dressed & Most Talented.

Making their Doggywood Debut, Guide Dogs NSW/ACT will have two Guide Dog Puppy Preschool sessions showcasing their cutest recruits. Cuddle a puppy, pat an Ambassador Dog, melt your heart and learn just what it takes for these super-pups to make it through the highly specialised training to become a person with blindness or low vision’s guide and best friend. And if that isn’t enough, stay around for most instagrammable event of the day – puppy selfies at the Guide Dogs Puppy Photo Booth. Guaranteed to make everyone utter “awwwww”!

Register for the Doggywood pageants in person/pooch on the day, but spaces are limited and will fill fast. Registration is FREE and times are 10am-10.45am and 11.00am-11.45am.

And while you’re in the Doggy ‘hood, check out some of the Doggywood stallholders and pamper your pup with a range of pooch products and services.

They’re pimped out in extravagant outfits and strut their stuff on the dogwalk, hoping to be seen. But it’s not a scene from Keeping Up With The Kelpies, it’s the battle for the coveted titles of Best Dressed, Most Talented and Best In Show at Doggywood.

Who doesn’t love the sight of a fur kid dressed as a hot dog? The cuter and crazier the better, but our judges will also be on the look-out for entrants who think outside their kennel. Best fur-do? What about a matchy-matchy lookalike between owner and pup? Those in need of inspiration can find some inspired ideas here!

If Fido can carry a higher note than Mariah Hairy or howl in perfect sync with your favourite Spotify playlist, then the category of Most Talented is for your best fur-friend. Time to show off your dog’s talents and wow our judges with some doggy dancing, jumping or any kind of cool new trick.

Only the best of the best will make it through to this category, so make sure you bring an army of supporters. Our highly scientific Doggywood Clapometer will be hard at work to determine Doggywood's coveted Best In Show
