Explore Sydney

Stunning weather and a city that celebrates its diversity makes Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras the jewel in the party season crown.

Whether you're seamlessly slipping it into a bigger journey or making it the feature focus, your visit to Sydney will be a stand out adventure you’ll never forget.

You are invited, from every corner of the world, to join us for our incredible 2020 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras season.

With a season spanning three weekends from Friday 14 February to Sunday 1 March 2020, you can experience everything from parties, performing arts, visual arts, social and community events to sporting events.

Our LGBTQI communities will sparkle in the sunlight at FAIR DAY on Sunday 16 February, and our massive PARADE and PARTY is scheduled for Saturday 29 February.

Festival event and Parade float applications will open in spring 2019. Sign up to our e-newsletter to be first to know what's happening, and if you want exclusive ticket offers and other exciting ways to be involved, get closer to Mardi Gras by becoming a member.

There's so much of Sydney to see and experience, and the best place to discover all that's on offer is at the official Sydney website. See our guide to Sydney's many LGBTQI bars, clubs and parties here.

The City of Sydney is responsible for the city centre and more than 30 other suburbs including Darlinghurst, the traditional gay heartland of Sydney and where Oxford Street is located. You can see more of what the City of Sydney provides on their website.

If you have time to go further afield, New South Wales is home to some of the best beaches, landscapes, attractions and experiences anywhere in the world. Find out more about what NSW has to offer at the Visit NSW website.
