Google’s mission is to organise the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful, and our approach to diversity and inclusion is a natural extension of this: to increase access to opportunity by breaking down barriers and empowering people through technology. The diversity of perspectives, ideas, and cultures, both within Google and in the tech industry, leads to the creation of better products and services for everyone.

We also want our employees to have the same inclusive experience outside of the office as they do at work, and for LGBTQ+ communities to be safe and accepted, wherever they are. When it comes to supporting diversity and equality locally, we believe in focusing our efforts and resources to maximise impact for the community. That’s why we’re proud to continue our partnership with the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. Last year we proudly sponsored the Mardi Gras Community Parade Grants, a wonderful grassroots initiative that directly assists LGBTQ+ people, promotes equality and gives the community  a stronger voice. Through this program we sought to enable as many people as possible to participate in Mardi Gras, putting resources towards helping community organisations create their own memorable parade experiences.
