TikTok is proud and honoured to be partnering with The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras in 2021

The foundation of TikTok has always been about providing a place for people to express their ideas through creative, joyful and engaging content. The result is a vibrant, inclusive, global community that celebrates and embraces diversity and self-expression. Now more than ever it’s important to us that LGBTQIA+ voices and stories are shared, seen and heard. TikTok welcomes those those who are pushing acceptance for all and helping to create a world where everyone has the right to be who they are and love who they love.

Our global team is active in supporting our LGBTQIA+ communities. This year we celebrated Pride Month in the US by recognising an inaugural list of TikTok Trailblazers, 25+ LGBTQIA+ creators who are at the forefront of the next wave of digital entertainment and defining what it means to embrace self-pride and live their lives to the fullest. We also partnered with non-profit organisations that support LGBTQIA+ causes, including GLAAD, It Gets Better Project, SAGE, Stonewall Foundation, The Trevor Project, and True Colors United. Now, as we establish a presence here in Australia, we’re focussed on building our support for the local LGBTQIA+ community, and it is a privilege to be partnering with the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. The passion and commitment of organisations like these is a reminder to us all that we are not alone, that we are strong and resilient individuals and, even stronger together.

We are committed to elevating and amplifying LGBTQIA+ voices because we believe they are making a positive impact on TikTok and in their broader communities. We’re excited to be creating an uplifting program, both on and off the platform, to celebrate Mardi Gras with you in 2021.

To our LGBTQIA+ community: we see you, we hear you, and we celebrate you.
