Our communities haven’t seen a true Sydney Mardi Gras Festival since before the Sydney Lockout Laws. We’re ramping up to re-introduce the Festival to the world in its purest form, under the recently announced 2024 theme Our Future…

We’re inviting our glorious community to join the global re-introduction as part of our open-access Mardi Gras+ program. With a range of packages outlined below, the Sydney Mardi Gras+ Program is managed and curated by the same team that delivers the internationally renowned Festival.

Please ensure that you have read all the information below and the 2024 Terms and Conditions before submitting your application online.

2024 Sydney Mardi Gras+ Program

PACKAGE 3: DIGITAL ONLY

Inclusions:

  • 2 x dedicated social media posts via Sydney Mardi Gras channels (Twitter and/or Facebook)
  • Dedicated event listing page on the Sydney Mardi Gras website
  • 1 x dedicated mention in the Sydney Mardi Gras Newsletter
  • Inclusion in the Instagram Stories, newsletter and website ‘What’s On Today’
  • Approved use of the 2024 Festival Events branding pack

Price:

  • Ticketed: $499 for one event/season or $399 each for two or more
  • Free: $399 for one event/season or $299 each for two or more
  • NFP are eligible for a $50 discount (up to two events)

PACKAGE 4: DIGITAL ONLY

Inclusions:

  • Dedicated event listing page on the Sydney Mardi Gras website
  • Inclusion in the newsletter and website ‘What’s On Today’
  • Approved use of the 2024 Mardi Gras+ branding pack

Price:

  • Ticketed: $199 for one event/season or $159 each for two or more
  • Free: $159 for one event/season or $109 each for two or more

Please note: Applications have closed for Packages 1 and 2 (Print and Digital Inclusions)

Joining the 2024 Sydney Mardi Gras+ program is by application only, if your event is approved it will be added to the Festival calendar.

Application process:

  • Submit your completed 2024 Sydney Mardi Gras+ application by 11:59pm AEDT 3 December, via the application link below. All required fields must be completed in order for your application to be reviewed.
  • All applications will be assessed by Sydney Mardi Gras based on their relevance to the LGBTQIA+ community, contribution to the broader Sydney Mardi Gras Festival, if the event(s) take place during February and/or March 2024, are run by, employ and/or engage LGBTQIA+ people and align with the Sydney Mardi Gras ethical framework.
  • Approved applicants will be notified and have approximately two weeks to pay the invoice and complete their additional event information form.

Digital Packages

  • Applications are open now
  • Applications close: 11:59pm AEDT 3 December 2023
  • Successful applicants notified: By 5pm AEDT 5 December 2023
  • Additional event information form due: 11:59pm AEDT 17 December 2023
  • Invoice due: by 11:59pm AEDT 17 December 2023

1. In order for your event to be accepted by SGLMG, you must ensure that your event name and title meets the criteria in these Terms & Conditions.

2. You must not use the words:
a) “Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras” or “Mardi Gras”, or “Official” in your presenting credit or event title, because SGLMG is not co-producing or co-presenting your event;
b) “Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras” or “Mardi Gras” or “Official” or “Official Opening” or “Opening Event” or “Official Closing Party/Event” in the title or URL of your event, as it could be interpreted as a Mardi Gras produced event.

3. You must not use our name in your presentation title – this includes:
a) Presented by or with Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras
b) Co-presented by or with Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras
c) Presented by or with Mardi Gras
d) Co-presented by or with Mardi Gras
e) In Association with Mardi Gras

4. This also includes using the above words in your event names and URLs created online, including social media platforms and ticketing sites. 

5. If your event registration is accepted by SGLMG, you will be entitled to use an accreditation version of the Mardi Gras Season logo on all your marketing collateral to acknowledge you are an officially registered event. The accreditation version of the Mardi Gras Season Logo and Guidelines will be issued to you after your event is accepted, as a part of our authorized branding pack. You cannot use our logo prior to the Guidelines being issued.

6. When completing your application, you must satisfy the condition of being an LGBTQI+ related event (chosen from one of the categories listed in the selection below). 

7. If you fail to pay your invoice by the due date, it is within SGLMG’s power to remove your event from the Festival program.

8. It is to the discretion of SGLMG to determine the channel and timing of your social media and newsletter inclusions.

9. Due to the volume of work and events during the Festival period, SGLMG are unable to provide insights and analytics on social media, newsletter and website inclusions.
