Join a lively organisation of passionate people creating one of the world’s best LGBTQI+ festivals

Job vacancies

Since the first march for freedom in 1978, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras has grown into a leading international cultural arts festival with a street Parade that has grown to include 12,500 participants and reach a local, online and broadcast audience of over 13 million people.

Making Mardi Gras happen takes a large team of people. We have year-round and seasonal staff to help produce the season, in addition to our committed volunteer teams. We are always interested in knowing more about people who want to be a part of the team.

Mardi Gras is one of the oldest, continuously operating LGBTQIA+ organisations in Australia. We’re a non-for-profit member-based organisation which was built on the foundations laid by early community activists who fought for LGBTQIA+ rights in a time of wide-spread, institutionalised oppression and discrimination. From these origins, Mardi Gras has evolved to include a strong focus on celebration while maintaining a commitment to social justice for LGBTQIA+ communities.

We encourage applications from a diverse range of applicants. Our organisation is an EEO employer and welcome applications from people who identify as sexuality, sex and/or gender diverse, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and people who are differently abled.

Partnerships Coordinator

We’re looking for an experienced Partnerships Coordinator to join the Partnerships team to support the execution and delivery of an integrated sponsorship strategy. Workforce and Operations Coordinator (multiple roles)

The Workforce and Operations Coordinator reports directly to the Volunteers and Operations Manager and works directly with the applicable Mardi Gras and Sydney World Pride staff across the 2023 season. They will support the Volunteers and Operations Manager in delivering professional volunteer management and human resources services to event production teams and business units.

Organisational Marketing and Communications Manager

The Organisational Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to develop and implement key strategies across the organisation that build awareness, transparency and adoption of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras activities as an organisation, outside of the annual Festival.
